Nails Tips

One thing I love doing is painting and decorating my nails. I think nice nails can compliment any look really well.

I've always been quite girlie, and love the pretty gems and nail art that you can buy these days.
The Gel Finish Nail Enamel range is one of the best I've used. It applies really easily and lasts much longer than any other nail varnish I have tried.

Here are two ideas for gorgeous nail designs:

Both of these designs have used Avon's Gel Nail Enamel in Parfait Pink P807 (order here), shown at the front in the image below:

The lighting of this first nail art image wasn't the best so it looks darker than the others, however I can assure you it's the same colour.

For this design, you will need:
- Avon Gel Finish Nail Enamel
- Gemstones (cheap and easy to find on ebay - coming soon to Avon!)
- Nail glue (found in many drugstores)
- Old tweezers

1. Paint one coat of polish onto your nails in your desired colour
2. Once the first layer is dry, apply another
3. Wait for them to dry, then pick up a gemstone with an old pair of tweezers
4. Gentle squeeze the nail glue so that a small amount comes out and dab the back of the gemstone onto the glue
5. Apply the gemstone where you would like it on one of your nails
6. Continue this process until you have the look you want
7. For the look shown here on the right, it is best to start from the bottom of the nail and add gemstones up the nail so you can see how much space you have left/how many more gems you can fit

For this second design, you will need:
- Avon Gel Finish Nail Enamel
- 3D Nail Art, in this case flowers (cheap and easy to find on ebay)
- Nail glue

1. Paint one coat of polish onto your nails in your desired colour
2. Once the first layer is dry, apply another
3. Wait for them to dry, then pick up a flower with your fingers (or tweezers if this is easier)
4. Squeeze out a small amount of glue and apply to the back of the flower, then blow the glue to set it a bit and apply straight to the nail
5. To secure the flower, angle your finger sideways and apply glue to either side of the flower making sure it covers the base - by doing this, mine lasted 9 days before I removed them myself

These looks are easy and quick yet impress others as they are querky and a bit different to just having plain nails.

Be sure to use old tweezers, as they may get glue on them. Although nail glue comes off quite easily, you don't want to risk ruining your best pair of tweezers.

I tried both these looks before with top coat instead of nail glue and both the gems and the flower fell off within a day or two. Nail glue is much better and last so much longer :)
